A, B, C, D: Blastocystis hominis cyst-like forms stained in trichrome. The sizes vary from 4 µm to 10 µm. The vacuoles stain variably from red to blue. The nuclei in the peripheral cytoplasmic rim are clearly visible, staining purple, in Figure B (4 nuclei).
