[Toxoplasma gondii]

Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites, stained with Giemsa, from a smear of peritoneal fluid obtained from a mouse inoculated with T. gondii.  Tachyzoites are typically crescent shaped with a prominent, centrally placed nucleus.
