The correct answer is B, Trichinella spiralis.  Severe facial edema, myalgia, and fever occur during invasion of the muscles by Trichinella spiralis.  Myocarditis and involvement of the central nervous system are severe symptoms of trichinellosis.  Although worldwide incidence of trichinellosis has declined, T. spiralis can still be found in domestic  pigs.
